    Never miss the due date.

Log the breeding in Flockwell and it counts down to the due date and reminds you when kidding is near.

How long is a goat pregnant?

Goats are pregnant for about 150 days, roughly five months. Most does kid between day 145 and day 155. Smaller breeds such as Nigerian Dwarfs often kid toward the shorter end, and does carrying twins or triplets tend to kid a little earlier than does with a single kid.

The calculator counts 150 days from the breeding date. If the buck ran with the does for a while, use the first day you saw her mated, or the middle of the time they were together, and watch her from day 145.

    Questions

How long is a goat pregnant?

About 150 days, or five months. Most does kid between 145 and 155 days after breeding.

Can a goat go past 150 days?

Yes. A few days either side of 150 is normal. If she's well past 155 days, or seems unwell at any point, ask a vet to check her.

How can I tell if my goat is pregnant?

The first sign is that she doesn't come back into heat about three weeks after breeding. Her belly and udder grow later in the pregnancy. A vet can confirm it with an ultrasound or a blood test from about 30 to 45 days.

When should I breed for spring kids?

Count back about five months. Use the "plan backwards" option above: enter the date you'd like kids and it shows the breeding date.
