Paper

To save it as a PDF instead, choose "Save as PDF" in the print window. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Rather tap than write?

Flockwell keeps the same egg log on your phone: tap + for each egg and it saves itself, with weekly charts, health reminders and egg sales in one place.

How to use it

Every evening

Write the day's eggs in each column and the total. If you collect twice a day, add them up at the evening collection.

Use the notes

A word or two is enough: "hot", "broody Daisy", "new hens", "molting", "sold 2 dozen". The notes explain the dips later.

At the end of the month

Add up the totals, then copy the month onto the year page. Divide by the number of laying hens for eggs per hen.

What's a normal number?

A good laying hen lays about 4 to 6 eggs a week in her first two years, fewer as she gets older. Laying drops in autumn and winter.

Spotted a drop?

Check the timing against your notes, then read why chickens stop laying for the usual causes.

Know your cost per egg

With a month of totals, the cost per egg calculator shows what each egg really costs you.

Questions

Is the egg record sheet free?

Yes. Download and print as many copies as you like for your own flock, club or class. There's no sign-up and no email needed.

Can I use it for ducks or quail?

Yes. There are three columns, so you can track hens, ducks and quail on one sheet. Type the names before printing, or leave them blank and write them in.

Will it print on A4?

Yes. Pick the A4 PDF, or choose A4 under Paper before printing. Both sizes fit one month on one page.

How do I work out eggs per hen?

Divide the month's total eggs by the number of hens that are of laying age. For example, 120 eggs from 6 hens is 20 eggs per hen for the month, about 4.7 a week.

Can I use it for a 4-H or school project?

Yes, it's made to be printed and written on. The year page is handy for showing how laying changes with the seasons.
